Khajuraho

The architectural style of the Khajuraho temples is very different from the temple prototype of that period. Each stands, instead of within the customary enclosure, on a high masonry platform. Combined with the upward direction of the structure, which is further accentuated by vertical projections, the total effect is one of grace and lightness, reminiscent of the Himalayan peaks. Each
of the chief compartments has its own roof, grouped in such a way that the highest is in the centre, the lowest over the portico, a triumph of skill and imagination in recreating the rising peaks of a range.

Chitrakoot (Satna)

The religious activity builds up in a crescendo of colours and spontaneous expressions of faith through the day, past high noon, gently diminishing as the setting sun picks out the bright colours of flower petals floating down the river, while the evening 'arti' lends its melodious cadences to the deepening dusk. Pachmarhi

The historical profile of Pachmarhi is fairly represented in the rock painting and the pristine caves.
Pachmadi (five huts), from which Pachmarhi derives its name, is a set of five caves(Pandav caves), which local Barhminical tradition claims as one of the places where the Pandavas sojourned during their wandweing (Agyatvasa). Archeologists, however, affirm that these caves are of Budhdhist origin, and a link between Sanchi & Ajanta.
